A Quilt Created Especially for You
Commission a one-of-a-kind quilt made with care, creativity, and attention to the details that matter most to you. Whether you are celebrating a new baby, preserving meaningful clothing, creating a special gift, or bringing a personal design idea to life, 702 Quilting can help create a quilt with lasting meaning.
What Is a Custom Quilt Commission?
A commissioned quilt is created specifically for you based on your preferred size, colors, fabrics, theme, and intended use. Unlike longarm quilting, where you provide a completed quilt top, a commission may include the planning, piecing, construction, quilting, and finishing of the entire quilt.
Commission Possibilities
Every commission begins with a conversation about your vision and what you would like the finished quilt to represent.
- Baby and nursery quilts
- Birthday, wedding, and anniversary gifts
- Memory and memorial quilts
- T-shirt and clothing quilts
- Military and service-themed quilts
- Holiday and seasonal quilts
- Custom color palettes and themes
- Wall hangings, table runners, and smaller quilted pieces
What Affects the Price?
Because each commissioned quilt is unique, pricing is provided after the project details have been reviewed.
- Finished size of the quilt
- Pattern and design complexity
- Fabric and material costs
- Amount of piecing required
- Type of quilting selected
- Binding and finishing requirements
- Condition and preparation of supplied clothing or fabric
- Requested completion date
How the Commission Process Works
Share Your Idea
Tell Diane about the quilt you have in mind, including its purpose, preferred size, colors, style, and desired completion date.
Review the Details
Diane will review the design, materials, construction needs, timeline, and any fabric or clothing you plan to provide.
Receive a Quote
You will receive a customized estimate based on the scope and materials required for your project.
Your Quilt Is Created
Once the project details and payment terms are approved, work can begin according to the agreed design and production schedule.
Please Plan Ahead
Custom quilts require time for design, material selection, construction, quilting, and finishing. Availability and completion times vary depending on the project and Diane’s current schedule. Contact 702 Quilting as early as possible if the quilt is intended for a birthday, wedding, holiday, or other specific occasion.
Supplying Clothing or Fabric
Customers interested in memory quilts, T-shirt quilts, or projects made from personal clothing should provide clean materials in usable condition. Diane will review the items before confirming whether they are suitable for the proposed design. Additional stabilizing, repair, preparation, or replacement materials may affect the final quote.
